It's worthwhile to think about where, exactly, we are placing our attention throughout every day. What are you doing today? Where did your attention go last night? this morning? That tells us so much about who we are as individuals, and who we are becoming as a society.
Wonder what ol' Alexis would make of the current state of play in American politics. I'm sure he'd see plenty of the Protestant landlord's legacy, divorced from humanity/reality and lacking even a pretense of noblesse oblige, in our Silicon Valley obergruppenfuhrers. When bonds of social cohesion only manifest through the Eras Tour, we are living through a dark timeline indeed.
