Haha... this has been my thinking exactly. I remember the novelty of having so much outdoors time without going to the office, but now my remote work days are mostly spent walking between rooms.
Highly recommend a little perambulation to start the day if it's hard to work into a remote workday routine. The city's at its most optimistic around sunrise, and it's a relaxing way to spark a little serotonin release alongside the morning coffee. It can be tricky to establish an early-morning routine, but I've always appreciated the benefits.
I took more long walks during the first year of pandemic than I ever had before...and I wrote a novel. Haven't walked nearly as much since. Hmmmm

So true. And it's a shame that so much of American city planning is hostile to pedestrians...
Although if I'm thinking about this now, Silicon Valley isn't really that walkable. Maybe it was just a lot of hikes that gave us the internet??
Ha, good point! Maybe it was the hikes. Or maybe this is a "not because of, but in spite of" situation.
